Orton-Gillingham
Orton-Gillingham based methodology for learning to read and write uses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic input simultaneously in every lesson. The student sees it, hears it and feels how the sounds are formed in writing. The content of each lesson not only carefully builds on previously learned material, but reviews it as well. Therefore the method ensures success of struggling readers and writers.
This method can be used for people of all ages. Of course, failure is prevented if it is implemented early.
Dr. Wahl has had 125 hours of supervised training and 30 years of experience in using this method with learners of all ages. She also can do some informal testing to determine if multisensory methodology is appropriate for your child.
